Abogado gets a 100% mark

It’s perfect!

Out of 93,552 SBA test-takers from 250 schools, Jetka Tisha Venice T. Abogado, is one of the 45 gold medal awardees who obtained a perfect score in SBA Mathematics last school year 2010-2011.

Based on the statistics of the Guidance Center, this happened for the first time in the history of St. Mary’s Academy since 2004.

Standards Based Assessment (SBA) refers to a standardized achievement test which has a diagnostic capacity carefully designed and developed based on both the Department of Education and McRel Curricula with the international standards. The results provide the school with the strengths and weaknesses of the students in the areas of English, Math and Science.

According to Jetka, she found the test really hard and a bit pressuring not expecting to get a perfect score at all. She felt an overflowing happiness in showing excellence in doing so despite lack of preparation. “Study more and expect less. It is not impossible for you to get a high grade. I am very much encouraging you to do something like I did. I am looking forward to having more Pasay Marians achieve a high score”, Jetka disclosed.

The SBA test was conducted in February 2011 to all First Graders, Fourth Graders and Sixth Grade pupils. The announcement and the certificate of recognition was handed to her last First Quarter Reading of Honors in SMA with no less than the Guidance Coordinator, Ms. Leonora Rubio and the Grade School Principal, S. Ma. Lourdes B. Cao, RVM.

Jetka was also recognized by the Math Circle of the Philippines for her outstanding achievement.
