Financial Assistance
Mother Ignacia Assistance Program (MISFAP)
St. Mary's Academy through its Mother Ignacia Student Financial Assistance Program aims to provide financial assistance to students with outstanding academic performance and those who have the capacity to continue their studies and yet are hindered by the lack of financial resources.
MISFAP has the following forms of assistance:
- Academic Scholarships
- Scholarships for gifted students
- Grant-in Aid Scholars
- SMA Alumni Dependents
- Fourth to Seventh Child
- Victims of Calamities
The priority application deadline for prospective and current students is April 15. Application Form, Criteria for Eligibility and Requirements is available at the Records Center.
Brief Description of Available Financial Assistance
1. Academic scholarships: Financial grants given to students who are high academic achievers and maintain high performance ratings in a particular grade/ year level.
2. Scholarship for gifted students: Financial grants given to a maximum of 7-10 students for the G.S. or H.S. Department with verified financial needs, possessing outstanding abilities/special talents in music, theater, arts, athletics and others.
3. Children of Faculty and Staff: Financial assistance given to children of tenured faculty and staff starting Kinder.
4. Grant-in-Aid Scholars: Financial assistance given to students with expressed and verified high financial needs regardless of grade/year level including transferees and new students.
5. SMA Alumni Scholars: Financial assistance given to a maximum of 7-10 children of alumni parents with verified high financial needs. Only 7-10 slots allotted for a School Year.
6. Fourth to Seventh Child from Families of 4 - 7 Children: Financial assistance given to fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh legitimate child of families with at least four children enrolled in SMA in a particular school year.
- Fourth Child - 50 %
- Fifth Child - 65 %
- Sixth Child - 80 %
- Seventh Child - 100 %
7. Victims of Calamities: Financial assistance is given to students who are victims of fire, typhoons and other calamities.
8. SMA Pasay Outreach Scholars: Partial financial assistance extended to recommended poor but deserving students of RVM schools in Visayas and Mindanao.
Assistance are in the form of tuition discounts except for the first honors scholars. Awards are for one school year only.
